Specialised Gym Programs:
We provide 2 types of supervised gym sessions, Physical Training and Physio Gym. These both include specialised exercises individual to particular problem. These may include osteoporosis, arthritis, spinal pain, weight loss, depression, general fitness etc. These types of sessions include a variety of exercises including pilates, yoga stretches, fitball work etc. There are 5-7 people per session. Sessions are available 5 days a week at various times. We currently run 9 sessions per week.
Osteoporosis Gym:
Osteoporosis is a condition where there is a reduction of bone density creating pain and brittle weak bones. The most common joints affected are the spine, hips and wrists. This disease is often known as the silent aging disease because it is more common as we age and is not symptomatic until a lot of damage has been done. Current research has shown that weight bearing exercise is beneficial in reducing osteoporosis pain. Our gym work incorporates exercises using weights under supervision that have been selected on an individual basis to give you optimum results. Our osteoporotic clients work hard in the gym but with good effect.
Acupuncture:
Acupuncture is used with individual physiotherapy consultations and home visits. It is a natural treatment of inserting small sterile needles into the tissues to reduce pain, inflammation and speed up recovery. It is used as an adjunct to other physiotherapy treatment and has proven to be very successful with the majority of clients. It is performed by experienced physiotherapists with extensive acupuncture training.
Manipulative Treatment:
Manipulation is the process of mobilising joints using a variety of hands on techniques. These can range from gentle rocking motions to solid thrusts creating a "click" in the joint. These may be incorporated with physiotherapy consultations or home visits.
Massage:
Massage is often used in conjunction with physiotherapy consultations particularly with sports injuries and spinal dysfunction. When joints are tight muscles are often involved and need to be treated as well. There are many different types of massage, but most of the massage that physiotherapists perform is deep tissue and trigger point releases.
Trigger Point Work:
Trigger point work is a type of deep massage that may be used when attending physiotherapy. It targets specific control points of muscle which helps with relaxation and muscle function.
Braces/supports/equipment:
Grange Physiotherapy can supply and fit a range of braces and supports. These include:
Back and neck braces
Ankle & knee braces
Soft orthotics for feet problems
Elbow, wrist and finger supports
Postural braces

Contour pillows are usually ordered to measure and take a few days to arrive.

There is no rebate from private health cover.

Work and Motor Vehicle Related Injuries:
Grange Physiotherapy has good gym facilities in order to treat both work and motor vehicle related injuries. All clients must have a referral from their doctor prior to treatment. Gym work and exercise is usually a big component in the rehabilitation f these clients.
