Naragebup
is a community built, community run, non-profit organization
open to the public
six days a week.
Sitting opposite the pristine Lake Richmond,
The Environment
Centre houses many Learning Centres and Activities:
* The rare and endangered Thrombolites "living rocks" of
Lake Richmond.
* Nyoongar culture, songs and stories re-told and "bush tucker"
walk.
* Recycling, displays and hands on activities offered.
* Marine aquariums, large collection of local fish species, including
seahorses.
* Coastal Caring, marine pollution exhibit.
* Coastal Dune ecology walk & short video available on rehabilitation
of dunes.
* Geography and geology of Point Peron and the offshore Islands.
* Wetlands exhibit with aquariums of local and feral wetland creatures,
frog display and equipment available for water quality testing.
* Renewable energy, working wind turbine and solar panels with converter
(import/export on grid).
* Waterwise gardens and activities offered on the water cycle and
saving our precious water.
* Productive organic garden available for tours and hands on work.
